Heel Pain
I got it running and playing a lot of golf (I walk, thank you very much!!). Heel pain is no fun, especially when you hit the floor in the mornings getting out of bed. If you suffer from heel pain (plantar fasciitis), you know exactly what I am talking about. This thing doesn’t go away on it’s own. I had my podiatrist make custom orthotics. I bought a night splint to wear while I was sleeping. The condition persisted for over a year!
My experience is that there are a few things you can do to remedy this condition. Good shoes help, but they are not enough. Doctors like to prescribe anti-inflammatories, which I prefer not to take. One thing my doctor (who is a running buddy of mine) suggested is to buy some marbles, and spend time picking them up and dropping them in a bowl with my toes. OK, I know. It sounds goofy, but give it a try. You might be surprised. Oh, and doing it once won’t get it. Try a couple of times a day for a month or so and see if you’re not better.
